In the movie Loose Change, we are subjected to the many aspects of the tragedy of September 11, 2001, that have been overlooked.  These aspects, brought up by the narrator, serve to show people that the information reported by the government and media may not have been the whole truth. The narrator begins by questioning the trust we should have for the information the government provided to us. Viewers’ distrust can immediately begin as the narrator points out facts about the crashing of the Pentagon. The skid marks across the terrain around the Pentagon, made by the airplane that supposedly hit the building, are not as they should be. They cover less area than a plane coming down should have made. Along with the markings on the terrain, the narrator dictates the fuel engine and size, which should have caused more damage to the Pentagon than it did.

Inconsistencies, when pointed out, prove to be the greatest flaws in any story that may not have been the truth. The government and news reports kept the public updated on the occurrences during, and after, the 9/11 incident. When information given by the government is reported, the unknowing public’s first, and sometimes only option, is to trust that the information given to them is true. The news and occurrences themselves, however, prove to have their own inconsistencies. Video footages released to the public in 2001 and replayed throughout the movie show the image of the crumbling towers. One of the simplest inconsistencies seen is the timing of the towers as they collapsed. The other inconsistency is brought forth by information the narrator gives us. Another building that was built before the twin towers, therefore having a poorer structure system, had been hit by an airplane some years earlier and did not collapse. This simple piece of information can be seen as a simple coincidence, or as part of the inconsistency in the reports of occurrences as told me the government.

An implausible label is given to a government when challenging the believability of whatever story they may have said. The narrator has placed an implausible label on the occurrences of 9/11, questioning not only the reliability on the information released to the public but even the possible involvement of the government. The narrator does not call to question the authenticity of their story but blatantly rejects any sort of truth to what was told to the public. The narrator effectively presents facts that can put its view to question the truth being 9/11.
